The factory is the largest and most costly resource within the organisation and therefore it is essential that the procedures are carried out by production operatives safely and efficiently.
Below is a list of responsibilities that all production operatives are required to fulfil as a team. Your role within this team may require you to fulfil all or just some of these responsibilities. It is important that production operatives have a flexible approach to their job and are able to adapt to the different responsibilities when requested by the Factory Foreman, Supervisors or Operations Managers.
Ensure that the correct PPE is worn and that health and safety guidelines are followed when carrying out any operations within the factory.
To adhere to company policies as described in the employee handbook.
To operate within the health and safety requirements and maintain cleanliness of the yard.
You may be required to assist with additional duties in the factory when requested.
Additional procedures will be introduced to assist you in fulfilling these responsibilities.
To uncover, de-tension and lift cured joists from moulds.
To cut and roll lifted joists using the correct tools, in a safe manner.
To only operate machinery that you are certified to use (i.e. Stihl Saws, FLTs).
To mark joists, identifying any breakages and recording them on the necessary paperwork, ready for clearing.
To sweep and clean moulds.
To measure, oil and prepare moulds for casting.
To wire and stress the moulds ready for casting.
To fill and cover the moulds.
To maintain the cleanliness of the site and canteen.
(Failure to do this could result in loss of bonus).
For those operatives holding FLT Licenses or Mixer Truck Licenses, it is expected that you carry out duties using these qualifications.
