Loadspan Guide

 

When it comes designing your new project, whether it be a dream home or complex commercial development we understand the depth of your floor needs to be established at a very early stage.

Our loadspan tables shown below will give you guidance as to the depth of Litecast floor beam you can expect. If you are new to the world of construction, with a view of constructing your own Self Build project then there are a couple of pointers we need to advise you of; firstly a domestic dwelling will have an imposed load of 1.50kN/m²; secondly the 1.50kN/m² finishes will make allowance for a screed depth of up to 65mm and 1.725kN/m² for a screed depth of 75mm.

Guides below show the most cost effective solution for your development.

Please note, when reading our loadspan tables the green represents a 150mm deep beam, orange signals a 225mm deep beam, whilst red indicates a solution cannot be achieved with the span length and loading required (in this instance we would suggest a mid span support). The figure shown next to the beam depth relates to the centres at which the floor beams are to be placed.

The clear spans indicated are to be used as typical clearspans for the project.
